This past weekend Randi and I jetted off to LA for a mother/daughter weekend...
and what a wonderful time we had!
The focal point of our trip was this store...the American Girl Place.

We had Maddie's (her doll) hair done and ears pierced. (Yes, they have a salon for the dolls...and a photo studio, and a hospital.)
And we dined at the cafe. Maddie got to sit with us...
The store had one hallway dedicated to the historical dolls. Julie, the doll from the 60's, was Randi's favorite display.
Although we kept our eyes pealed for Zac Efron or the Jonas Brothers...this was all we saw...
And this was as close as we got to any celebs...
We toured the beautiful Chinese Theatre. This was the ladies room...where those glamorous stars of yester-year had their make-up touched up. Randi could be a movie star sitting there.
Only in LA...would we see this puppy walking down the street...donning 4 little red shoes!Highlights of the trip:
- The Grove/LA Farmer's Market - where we shopped (a lot) and found darling hats (the one Randi is wearing), listened to fun music, and watched lots of interesting people.
- Ordering room service and watching Confessions of a Shopaholic.
- Swimming
- Seeing Hollywood
- Eating homemade cookies at the Hollywood Farmer's Market
- Lunch at The Farm
- Exploring LA together...just the two of us...
